I’m Scott Tidwell, founder of Clarion Education. I’ve had a long career as an educator. I taught university classes for many years, first as a teaching assistant at UCI, finally as an instructor at UCLA During that time, I realized that students learn best when they have sympathetic, engaged, and, above all, proactive teachers. I honed those qualities teaching some of the brightest students in the world.

I have a foot in both sides of the academic world. I have a B.S. in Mathematics from UCI and an M.A. in Philosophy from UCLA. I began tutoring students for the SAT and ACT my junior year of college, way back in 2001. Being a private tutor is the best job I’ve ever had, and I’m privileged to be able to do it full time today.
